Good morning kids. Still at the hotel in Phoenix. Bill and I watched the Cubs somehow win the game last night, so now they're up 2-1 over the Marlins in the series. I still can't believe they won. I say they win at least one more in Florida, and then finish them off in game 6 at home. If they want to just win both of the remaining games in Florida, though, I'd be ok with that. Bill and I will be heading to Tucson and then Sierra Vista later today to catch game 4 at some sports bar he's fond of. Should be fun, but I miss my girlfriend. I've already talked to her like 3 times on the phone since I left. We're both losers. I'm outta here. GO CUBS!

I'm at a hotel in Phoenix with Bill right now. We're watching the Cubs. Bill and I will probably go swimming later. He said he wants to hit on a woman. Here's a direct quote.

"As long as she's under 150 lbs and less than 49 years of age, I'll fuck the hell out of her."

It's like 3:45 AM and I really need to go to bed. I've been passing out over at Kate's for the last few days, which is so great, but it means I have to get up at odd hours in the middle of the night and come home. Whatever.

I still can't believe the Cubs won. I think Paul may have had a heart-attack if the score was any closer than it was (5-1), so it makes me exceptionally happy that the game ended with very little drama. The Cubs even scored an extra insurance run in the top of the 9th on a double to right by Tom Goodwin, which shut up those stupid announcers who were complaining about Baker pinch-hitting for Kerry Wood. The Florida Marlins are up next, and I'm sure Danny O'Connor will be giving our team some support from down in Miami Beach. Go Cubs!

Not too much is going on other than that. I had a nice night with Kate and Mia at a barbeque at her dad's. Met some nice people, ate some good food. We went to Sunny Acres on Saturday morning, which was great. Got some pumpkins, fed some animals. We were supposed to see "School of Rock", Jack Black's new movie which came out on Friday, but that didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow night, since the Cubs don't play until Tuesday.

I didn't mention this before, but I put in my two weeks notice at Interlake on Thursday the 25th. Things need to change at that place, and it just wasn't happening quickly enough. Sure, at some point like 3 months down the road maybe I could've expected something, but it shouldn't take that long. After a lot of talking and brainstorming by my superiors this past week, it looks as though a lot will change right away, and I may end up staying after all. It'll be nice to be able to do my job well, and for Paul to do his job well. We're going to kick some ass and take home some bonus checks if it all works out.

I'm supposed to be flying out to Arizona this Friday to visit Bill, but now there is a possibility that that won't happen! Cross your fingers everyone.

I must sleep now.
