This weekend was pretty excellent.

Friday: Had band practice with Kevin and Bob, which went well. We sort of arranged a song that I've had in my head for a looong time, and we pretty much nailed it down. All we have to do now is practice it and polish it all up. Hopefully we can get together more than once a month.

Saturday: Kate and Rick day. Mia was up at "the cabin" in Wisconsin with her grandma and papa and Joshua, so we had the day to ourselves. Now I love Mia a lot, but it was really nice to have time for just the two of us. We had breakfast at the Grove, wrote down a bunch of ideas for the wedding (which is almost certainly going to be May 28th, 2005, by the way), watched "Being John Malkovich", then made pizza and drank wine and had a fire outside with Paul and Laura. It was great, except for the part where I fell asleep drunk on the couch instead of in bed with Kate. Stupid.

Sunday: Played some good wiffleball with Mike Bodnar, Jeff Carr, and Paul. In the first game there was a lot more scoring than we're used to. The final was 16-8 in favor of Jeff and myself, although it really wasn't as one-sided as the score might lead you to believe. So we had a little rematch. It was going pretty well through 3 innings with Jeff and me up 3-1. I think it was the fourth, though, when Mike hit a run-scoring single into right field. Jeff was playing left field so I had to get the ball, even though I was pitching. As I tried to grab the ball and turn, my knee did some crazy twist and I heard some disgusting popping noises. Then I think I screamed "Oh fuck!" really loud and cried a little. It hurt like hell - still does, actually. So yeah, I'm going to get it fixed this time, although I can't really take any time off of work for at least the next week. The Throughput guy is out on paternity leave so I'm taking care of that in his absense. Thankfully, fixing the knee isn't a real urgent thing, but hopefully I'll get it taken care of next week.

Now I must go to sleep. Have a good week, everyone.
