I'm at work and I have about 15 minutes to waste, so here I am.
This new template is so stupid. I'm a princess!!!
Being engaged is so awesome. Kate and I were talking about getting married and having our own place and starting a family for a long time, but it never felt like it was actually possible. Now we're talking about the wedding and where we want to live and Mia keeps telling us what she's going to name the dog when we get one (it changes every day) and it's just great to know that it's actually going to happen. I wish we didn't have to wait so long (probably about a year), but it makes sense financially so it'll be well worth it.
This past weekend was fantastic. Kate and Mia and I went up to Muskrat Manor (Kate's father's place in Michigan) and hung out with her family. It was technically for Kate's graduation, but there were a bunch of other announcements (engagement & 2 new babies on the way) that made it even better. We went swimming, paddleboating, kayaking, played some pool, shot off a bunch of cheap fireworks, and had a bunch of red wine. It doesn't get much better than that, does it? I can't wait to go up there again - hopefully sometime this summer? We've gotta head up to my parents' place in the U.P. at some point as well. It's nice to have places to go for little vacations. I told Kate that we're going to get a lakehouse or something when we get a bit older and can afford it.
